Garden House in Hoofddorp, Netherlands: Peakside renovates office property from the Omega portfolio (2)

Frankfurt / Hoofddorp, 21 November 2023 – Peakside Capital Advisors AG (“Peakside“) has started renovation works at a 6,800 m² office property in Hoofddorp, south of Amsterdam. Garden House will be transformed as part of Peakside’s transition-to-green strategy to attain modern, ESG-compliant spaces with state-of-the-art technology and sustainability credentials.

 

The six-storey office property at Siriusdreef 2 was built in 1991. As part of the renovations, the building’s climate system will be fully modernized with new MEPinstallations enabling CO2-neutral operations. This includes a state-of-the-art air-towater heat pump (including a cooling) system to ensure energy-efficient operations. The communal areas and the lobby will also be redesigned, and green spaces as well as outside meeting rooms will be created in front of the building. Completion is planned for summer 2024.

 

The property is part of the Omega portfolio of which Peakside and Partners Group had bought the largest part in 2020. At the time of acquisition, it comprised 30 office and logistics assets in large cities in Germany as well as in France and the Netherlands.

 

Frank Schäfer, Partner at Peakside, says: “We decided to initiate a refurbishment programme for the Hoofddorp asset in the framework of our transition-to-green strategy which we are applying across regions. The sustainable optimization of existing properties is one of Peakside's core disciplines, which we have been successfully implementing for years not only for the benefit of our tenants but also for our investors. In 2024, we will therefore launch a new fund that focuses specifically on transition-togreen opportunities in the German market and makes our strategy accessible to institutional investors.”

 

Hoofddorp is located 15 kilometers south of Amsterdam. The city has 80,000 inhabitants and is part of the Randstad metropolitan area, which is home to eight million people. A regional train station links Hoofddorp to Schiphol, Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Leiden.

 

The property is being renovated in partnership with Spring Real Estate and designed by MAAQ Building Identity. Spring Real Estate has been mandated with leasing the asset.
